An exceptional vineyard between the Rioja Alta and the Rioja Alavesa.

100 hectares

Small parcels situated in high terraces with poor clay-limestone soil. The predominant variety is the Tempranillo grape, the only one used to make Macán and Macán Clásico.

The Tempranillo grape represents 86% of the vineyard, comprising mature vines with an average age of 49 years, distributed over 100 hectares divided into 170 parcels, with 90% growing in chalky clay and 10% in ferrous clay.

The density of vines per hectare ranges between 3333 and 8330 for vines older than 60 years. The vines are bush or goblet pruned, and the vineyard has been developed through the mass selection of the best plants.
