In 1982, the Álvarez family acquired the legendary winery Vega Sicilia
founded in 1864 in the Ribera del Duero by Eloy Lecanda. Over time, it would become the jewel in the crown of the Tempos Vega Sicilia group, headed by Pablo Álvarez, who would transform these well-renowned wines in Spain into internationally recognized icons. Over 40 years of hard work and dedication have resulted in solid and steady growth, the addition of wines made in other wine-growing areas, a growing mass of new consumers worldwide and the foundations for a promising future filled with success. Alión (Ribera del Duero), Oremus (Tokaji, Hungary), Pintia (Toro), the future project in Deiva (Rías Baixas) and, lastly and in collaboration with Benjamin de Rothschild, Macán (La Rioja).
